A Year in Review

I have to say, 2010 has been the best year of my life so far.... So I thought I would take a moment (or maybe two or three) and share with you a synopsis of 2010....

JANUARY

Pretty quite this month.  Celebrated Mom's birthday on the 21st with dinner out at Parkway Grill.  I wish I could remember what I got her.  But I am sure it was something nice... :-)

During this month we were still waiting on the close of escrow on the house.

Was given a goal for work of 2.8 million.  Wasn't sure how I was going to accomplish that one!  (And 12 months later I am almost positive I did it... but still awaiting the numbers.)

FEBRUARY

Big month... 2 humongous things happened!  Not sure which is more significant so this is in more date order than level of importance.... Rich and I got ENGAGED!  The level of excitement is hard to say in words, but I was so extremely excited and could not wait to be married.

Also in February on the 19th we closed on our first home together.  Here is a picture of the outside of the house.  Luckily the previous owner in her anger of losing the house only destroyed the inside... not the outside.  Only some minor repairs had to be done.  Eventually we would like to give the whole facade a face lift.
Our first home!!!!!
MARCH

Let the renovations begin!!!!  The house smelled so bad when we got it back in February that it took over a month to air the place out!  So disgusting!!!!!

Other than being engrossed in the house re-model nothing to much happened this month.  We are in full wedding planning mode.

Work has been extremely busy this month... Which is a good thing!

APRIL

In April Rich and I celebrated our last anniversary as a dating couple on the 7th.  We went to Roy's for dinner.  Roy's is also where we are holding our wedding reception.

Ordered my Wedding Dress!  Bought it at The Bridal Collection in Thousand Oaks.  Took mom, Oly, Jo and Emma with me and this is what we (me) bought...

This model still freaks me out!!!  But isn't my dress gorgeous???
Work wise this month was quite exciting... I was awarded the Children's Institute project.  This is I believe the largest bid I have won!  Yeah!  I found out when I was home sick, so that made it worth it!

NOTE TO SELF: You should right down everything you do, cause come December you can barely remember what happened the week before let alone 8 months before!!!!

MAY

We celebrated Rich's birthday on the 2nd.  I took him to Lawry's for his birthday.  That was a delicious dinner!  I wish I could remember what I got him!  But I am sure it had to do with his computer or Xbox....

On May 14th we moved into our new home!  It was an exhausting day, but the house is amazing and we were very excited.
I still think my kitchen is amazing!!!!
This month I also ordered Jo's and Emma's dresses for the wedding.  They are so cute!  Especially Emma... She looked just like a miniature version of Jo.

JUNE

On the 4th Rich, myself, Al & Sabrina went to Disneyland.  We had a great time and thanks to Dave we got in for free!  It is so nice to have that connection!  This was an especially fun day as this was Sabrina's first visit to Disneyland.

After we went on Nemo!  I was so proud of myself!  No claustrophobia!!!!
 `

Waiting for the fireworks to start on Main Street!
Work was extremely busy this month with installations.  I probably had one of my most busiest months!!!!

June was also a very exciting month for Rich and I as we are HUGE Laker fans and they won the Championship for the 2nd straight year in a row!  Against the Boston Celtics no less!  In a Game 7!  I almost hyperventilated!  It was soooo exciting!

Also in June I went to Erin's bridal shower.  Such a nice afternoon at her cousin Casey's house.  So excited that we are both getting married this year!

At the end of June (27th) we also took our engagement pictures.  I am very fortunate to have such a good friend who also happens to be a kick ass photographer.  Here are a couple of my fave's from that day!

Ahh... love!!!!!!!  And a killer engagement ring!

This is Rich's Zoolander look!

Had to have Daisy in our pics!  She is part of the family!

JULY

We spent Fourth of July this year splitting our time between two places.  We went to JoAnna's and Corey's in the early afternoon and spent some time there before heading to Oly & Manny's for dinner in the evening.  We ended going back to Jo and Corey's in the evening for fireworks and was joined by Malikai and Mike!

Also in July my wedding dress came in!!!!  So on the 11th, I went in for my first fitting!  It looked amazing!

AUGUST

On August 7th our friends, Tom and Erin got married at Pepperdine university with a wonderful reception at the home of one of their friends in Westlake.  It was a beautiful day.

On August 14th I had my bridal shower.  It was such a great day.  I had so much fun with all my girlfriends.  They spoiled me and I loved every moment of it!  Thanks to my MIL and mom, I had a great day!
My girls!  So glad Becky made the trip to California! And of course, my best friend Jo!!!

Bridezilla territory!
Also the weekend of the 27th we headed for a much needed getaway in Las Vegas.  Had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing Paul & Krystie as well as meeting up with Dave for brunch.  That was an experience!!!!

SEPTEMBER

This began the wedding countdown!  Also the start of a very hectic work schedule!  With two major installations happening this month I was a little concerned.  I had Children's Institute start on Sept 7th and then a week later I was on a plane to Texas for a Grifols installation.  I am glad to report that both installs went very well.

Also in September my office threw my a surprise Bridal Shower.  I was shocked!  And very surprised!

The shower was also on the same day that Rich left for his Bachelor party in Vegas.  He had a fabulous time with all the Hellman/ Lansdale men.  And I am so glad that everything went as planned!

September 25th is also Jo's birthday.  I got her flowers. :-)  And I vow the next year's birthday will be her best!

OCTOBER

Ahh!  Finally October arrives and it was such a wonderful month!  First we celebrated Daddy's birthday on the 5th with dinner at Parkway Grill (actually on the 3rd).  On October 9th we headed to Palm Springs for the wedding of Pat and Mariah.  We had such a fun time and was seriously one of my favorite weddings!

And then our wedding week arrives!  On the 15th we had our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  The rehearsal was at the wedding site (Also known as the Landsale/Cardoza household) and then we headed to Cafe Firenze!  I even got to meet Fabio!  And he kissed me!!!! :-)  That night Lynda and Sasha spent the night with me and the next day I wake up and it is my wedding day!

As a follower of this blog, I don't need to do a lot of recapping of this day, since I have written about it many many times.  But I will say it was the most perfect day of my life!

Also in October we went on our honeymoon to Hawaii.  It was a wonderful honeymoon and I wish we never had to come home!!!!

NOVEMBER

On November 6th we celebrated our marriage and new home with a reception at our house.  It was such a fun night with everyone!  We somehow managed to fit in 60 people and it did not rain at all!  Although it did threaten!

On November 25th  we not only celebrated a wonderful Thanksgiving at Manny and Oly's but we celebrated her birthday as well!  Thanksgiving was a wonderful day.  I love that both my family and Rich's family can celebrate together.  It makes my life so much happier!

DECEMBER

December is always a crazy month, my birthday, my brother's birthday, Hanukkah and Christmas all happen this month!  David's Birthday is Dec 2nd and mine is the 10th so we celebrated them together and this year we went to Lawry's for dinner.

On the 10th I had a wonderful day planned for myself.  Rich and I were going to go to Neiman's for lunch and then do some shopping, then in the evening head to South Pasadena for dinner and then to Pop for drinks and dessert.  But nope.  I was as sick as a dog!  A 24 hour flu that left me in bed the entire day.  So I have vowed that next year will be a better year.  So we will see....

Christmas was wonderful this year as well.  We went to Oly's for dinner on Christmas Eve and then we had 12 people here for Christmas dinner.  I got a Kindle, a pair of boots and some stocking stuffers from Rich for Christmas and I got him Rock Band 3 with a keyboard.  That might have been a mistake...

All in All 2010 really has been the best year of my life and I truly can not figure out how any other can be better!!!!!

Thank you all for who was a part making this year such a wonderful year!

Love you all!

Alisa started 2010 as a Hellman and ended it a Lansdale
