The long ride home

The worst drive is the drive home from Vegas on a Sunday afternoon. Its realizing that the fun weekend is over with and we now have to go back to reality. I am pretty bummed about this. And of course we are coming back with less money than we started with... The happy couple at the very expensive dinner... Waiting for the Bellagio water show to start... I was terrified I would drop the camera in the water... cause that is something I would do! He is so unbelievably good looking! I am so lucky! Yeah... that's the Paris...

And so it begins...

another week of work is upon us. Such a busy week! When can I say I have something to going on every single day and evening! Looking forward to spending time with my girls on Tuesday. Tomorrow evening is testing night at Roy's! Can't wait to taste the delicious food for our dinner! Wednesday evening we finally meet the man who is going to marry us! And then Thursday it is Vegas baby! Happy Sunday!

Did what I was supposed to do!

So tomorrow marks the end of the month in business here at my office... and guess what? I actually booked what I said I would book. *SHOCKER* But what a stressful time it is right now! I feel like I am performing at the highest I can be, but it is still not enough. I seriously need a vacation... next weekend I will be here... Is it Thursday night yet???? And when I say Thursday night, I mean NEXT Thursday night! But is Vegas a real rest and relaxation? So it looks like I will need to wait the 2 months until I can be here... It will be worth it when I am on the beach and disconnected from the outside world.

Friday the 13th

Well this day has sure lived up to its reputation! What a freakin HORRIBLE day! I am not going to go into details, but sometimes things are just not your fault and you can not help the situation. That was my day today. I was thrown under the bus and then the tires backed up on me just to make sure I was road kill. 20 minutes left and then I can say adios! Tomorrow will be a better day!

Only one more day

to go before the weekend! THANK FREAKIN GOD! I am so exhausted and overworked that I just need a little break.... And my bridal shower is on Saturday. Given by my wonderful soon-to-be mother in law! I can not wait! She is sooo cute about it too! So excited. The tables were set up yesterday (Mind you.. it was Wednesday and the shower is Saturday) and today she is doing all the cooking! Yes, she is the most amazing cook ever! And I am very lucky! Lots to do between now and Friday at 5pm... I just wish I didn't have to do it! Oh well. 3pm right now. SNACK TIME! Now I need to figure out what to make for dinner tonight. I have chicken and mushrooms. Hopefully I can figure out something amazing! Love, A

Monday! Monday! Monday!

I hate Monday's. In reality, who really likes Mondays? Except those people who have no life outside of their office and can't wait for the new work week to start. Me, on the other hand, wish I could still be in dream land. I'm usually really grouchy on Monday's until I have drunk my first cup of coffee. This morning is no exception. My engine oil light came on. Again. Augh! I drive a freakin BMW! This should not happen! Very annoying. Such an inconvenience, cause now I gotta go to the Auto Parts store, get the oil and have Rich put it in the car. I am really a girl about this kind of stuff. Went to a wedding this weekend for our friends Erin & Tom. Absolutely beautiful. The ceremony at Pepperdine University in Malibu was a stunning start and then the reception in their friends backyard was spectacular. I have to admit.. I will be stealing an idea or 2.... First idea I am stealing? The lighted up ice cubes in the centerpieces. Such a good idea for an evening reception. Gives the centerpieces a nice glow... And since the party will be outside in November, it will be really nice. Second idea.... all the candles. Loved the look of the candles glowing all around. Other than that, all the ideas are my own. :-) Now, I need to go and find the centerpiece holders... Have a good Monday! Need to start working now!

Falling Fast

At 34 years old I should know better than to go out on a "school" night! And granted it was only dinner with a girlfriend but you add wine and dessert and it quickly turns into... "I should call in sick in the morning". And no, not because I am hung over, but because I am sooooo tired! I can not keep my eyes open!!! I wonder if I can be like George Castanza and make a bed underneath my desk? What a fun evening though.... talked about my upcoming bridal shower next weekend, the wedding (Oct. 16th for inquiring minds), the after party and the usual gossip about the people we know. Now when I say "gossip", I don't mean that vicious mean gossip but the "Hey did you know that so and so is no longer working at so and so?" That kind of stuff. Ever been to Fraiche? Highly highly recommend! Very good food. Oh my gosh, I am so tired! I started this entry at 1:45pm. Had to go into a meeting at 2pm and just stepped out. So now I need even more of a nap... I'm done.

Its the little things

You don't realize how lucky you are until a single moment snaps in front of you. Nothing bad happened (thank goodness!) but I just had such a lovely evening! It started out like every other evening does... come home from work, go to the gym and then make dinner for Rich and I. As usual when I leave the office, I call my mom to check in. (I am SUCH a good daughter... and very modest too.) She says that our favorite flavor of frozen yogurt is back at Go Yogurt! (YEAH!!!!!). She also tells me that a gift arrived for our wedding. So she wants to know if Rich and I would like some frozen yogurt after dinner and she will bring over the gift. So I call mom after dinner and she and my dad come over (did I mention that Rich and I bought a home in the same neighborhood as my parents? And when I say the same neighborhood, I mean I can see their house from my backyard!). What I thought was going to be a 5-10 minute visit turned into an hour and a half. And I could not have been happier. It wasn't that we had this wonderful conversation, but just to be around my daddy, my mom and Rich all gathering in the backyard on a lovely summer evening to enjoy some frozen yogurt and the company was just a little moment that I can take with me forever. Thanks mom and dad. I love you.

In complete & Utter

SHOCK! I have a reader! OMG! I think that I might go into shock... But no, instead I went and grabbed the peanut butter pretzels. These damn things are so addicting. I was trying to eat my daily allowance (11) which allows me 150 calories... but I am very steadily creeping to the 20 pretzel mark. MUST STOP NOW! (Okay, one more than they are going away!) So the wedding planning... going completely and totally easy! Something you probably have never come out of a soon-to-be bride's mouth! Flowers are decided upon and reserved, musicians are reserved, chairs are reserved, dress is getting altered (I swear they ordered that thing 2 sizes too big just to get more $$$$ out of me!), grooms tuxes on order, etc. etc. It does help that the wedding ceremony and following reception is only for 20 people. That helps. A little. But then there is the after party. Being held in our home for our close friends and family. That small intimate gathering of 30 people or so has turned into an 86 person guest list. AUGH!!!! SO that is what I am in the midst or working on now. Got the invites done (Thanks Kopy King in Simi Valley) and the food decided... now the decor, tent the backyard or not (November party... probably will be cold.. tent the backyard), etc. etc. But I got a fabulous dress for it. And that is all the really matters... right? Until next time... A
